Liam's 8th Birthday Party - Saturday 29 October 2016 - The Camping Party

Little Dude decided he wanted a camping party. So tents were pitched in the garden for the dude and his buddies. Some buddies didn't sleep over and just attended the party and went home, and others rocked up complete with sleeping gear and declared themselves Fellow Adventurers.

Just to confirm - he wasn't cutting the cake here. He was introducing Dad to his right foot. 

Just as everybody was done singing - the wind blew his candle out. Which was fine - it saved him some energy and he managed to stay up slightly later. 

Dad always makes the best cakes. Nothing fancy - but boy are they tasty. This one lasted all of 5 minutes and there was nothing left.

Counting chocolates on the cake much? Ten it seems. But of course. it's open for debate. 

Mom doing the honors while Birthday Dude supervises. He is great at supervising. 

Here they were all telling Glenda that Spikey is still waiting for his slice. Or maybe that was just what Spikey was thinking. But it's still a very good thought!

Everybody had a ball - but it's fair to say the ones who slept over had the most fun.

And Spikey rocks da house with a HUGE teddybear - on the motorbike nogal

and the little dude was in love right there and then

The beauty about kids is they cannot hide emotion - and this here is proof

The bear even had a helmet on - because he rode on the bike mos

and when your new bear is almost bigger than you - you know it's love at first sight

Again - that face. Happy little dude that

The Dude and The Bear - a great combination - and of course the bear is now his companion pretty much everywhere. Which makes Spikey happy and that's a fact.

Master Liam approaches Dad in the kitchen, wringing his hands, and urgently requests "Dad, please fix Mom!?"

So Henk asks if she is broken?

"Nope" says Liam "She is furious with me!"

How to keep a straight face with such a heartfelt request! Of course, what he did NOT add, was that Mom has been asking him to finish his chores all evening and he has been inventing one excuse after the other, till she gave him a piece of her mind!

But we trust Mom got fixed after all. Coz fixed moms are just better.

Liam Reads His First Ever Book - 10 May 2016

So today our little hero read his first ever book - all by himself! It's a "reader" for beginner readers called The Fat Cat.

And boy is he chuffed with himself!

Well done dude!

Sea Holiday - George - Easter 2016

The road was long. Looooooooong! But the Dudes handled it admirably well

But the view on Bruce's farm was well worth the trip

And the Dudes couldn't WAIT to get their feet wet. Stuff the weather!

And we body surfed

And we were dragged behind boats

And we got buried in the sand!

Some horses got ridden. Big ones - he will tell you straight away. NOT shetland ponies!

The Mini Biker Rides Again

Hang on - that might be the Mini Zombie Dude?

He slept with the dogs

But he liked it!

And went on walks with the Parentals! What fun!

What a great holiday we had, with so many wonderful memories!
